2008 Quilt Show
“Smoky Mountain Traditions”

RULES
This Quilt Show will be judged by an NQA-certified judge.
Any individual or group is eligible.
Entry must have been completed after 01/01/2000 and not previously entered in a SMQG quilt show.
Entries must be clean, dry, and free from all odors and pet hairs.
Entry to be three layers, quilted. (Exception: novelty or clothing).
A sleeve of 4” wide minimum must be attached to top back on all quilts and large wall hangings.
Entry must have label with the owner’s name, quilt name, address, and telephone number on the lower back-left corner;
however, labels must be covered for judging. Labels on garments may be sewn on
inside.
Include a completed registration form and a photograph for each entry.
All entries must hang for the duration of the show.
Limit of two entries per category per person.
Smoky
Mountain Quilters Guild will receive 10% of selling price on any quilt
sold from contacts made at show.
Quilts eligible for Best Hand Quilting, Best Machine Quilting, and Best of Show awards must be the work of one person.
The show committee and judge reserve the right to re-categorize entries. All
decisions of the judge are final. The Smoky Mountain Quilt Guild reserves the
right to reject any entry including those deemed inappropriate for our show or that fail to follow the quilt contest rules.

Monday, July 28, 2008, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Mail Delivery: Mailed quilts must be received by Wednesday, July 23, 2008.

QUILT RETURN
Hand Return: All items must be picked up with proper identification and receipt between 4:00 and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday,
August 9, 2008. Bring receipt.
Mail Return: Send in a returnable box, no loose packing materials. Enclose
completed registration form.
Include a separate and pre-paid postage label with a self-addressed
label for the return of your quilt. We do not accept checks for return postage. Please call Mary Ann Budahl at 828/293-5004 or email mabudahl@mchsi.com with any questions concerning the return of your quilt.
INSURANCE
We will provide NQA “Standard Insurance Coverage”:
$500 – for quilts 70” and greater on the shortest side
$250 – for clothing and quilts less than 70” and greater than 24” on the shortest side
$100 – for quilts 24” or less on the shortest side
If you desire more than “Standard Coverage,” please be certain to include your quilt on your homeowner’s
policy, or secure additional insurance through your agent.
