Regular Day Meetings are
held on the second Monday of the month at 9:30 a.m., and Evening Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
at Tartan Hall, at the Presbyterian Church, 26
Church Street, Franklin, N.C. Everyone belonging to the Guild is invited to attend any and all meetings. Guests are welcome.
Workshops are offered on
various subjects, and are geared to all levels of skills. The purpose is to teach
new ideas and broaden our quilting knowledge. We have local instructors, as well
as out-of-town presenters.
Hand quilting is done by
experienced and novice quilters every Monday morning from 9 to 12:30 p.m.,
all day Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Everyone is urged to participate
in hand quilting, and to learn the marking of quilts. Quilt tops are hand quilted
for hire. We usually have two quilts set up on frames in the Quilt Room at the
Franklin Memorial Building, 480
West Main Street, Franklin. The proceeds of the hand quilting help support our educational programs for our Guild
members.
Membership dues are $20.00
per year, and are payable on or before the first day of each fiscal year, which begins April 1. Dues may be
made by check payable to SMQG, and may be given to the membership chairman at the meetings, or by mail to her, Phyllis
Garrett, 258 Old Mill Creek Rd., Franklin, NC 28734.
