Calendar
This coming year will be a busy one for our guild. Planning, hard work, and lots of quilting will pay off in June when we sponsor the North Carolina Quilt Symposium.
In the months prior to the Symposium, we are planning to keep member expenses to a minimum and will draw from the guild for our programs and activities.
The night meeting is going to return to the third Monday March through May for 2012. There will be no night meetings for January or February in anticipation of winter weather. Night meetings are going to be coordinated by Nancy Shay. Most of the programs will involve “hands-on” activities that can more easily be accomplished in a smaller group setting.
Workshops are going to be scheduled one Saturday a month at the ERC. These workshops are intended to be free or of little cost and will be led by guild members. This is a chance for us to share our quilting knowledge and enjoy the fellowship of others.
The following is a tentative schedule:
January
January 9: Paisley and Civil War Challenge – members will bring in and share their completed projects. The paisley fabric was a fabric challenge from 2011. The Civil War fabric was from a strip exchange. Are you ready?
New Year's Resolution/Contract – We are all going to answer the questions: What am I going to finish this year & What can I do to improve my quilting life...legally? If possible, we will agree to take “before and after” pictures of our quilting space or room.

February 13: Ugliest Quilt Contest – You know you have “that one” hidden away! Bring your “best” entry and join in the fun!
What is this, and how do I use it? Members will bring quilting items or tools to the meeting and we will ask for “volunteers” to explain how to use them.

UFO/Swap Meet/Exchange - Now is your chance to get rid of that project that is never going to get finished! We will have a fun way for all to get involved in a goodhearted swap of “that project” we just couldn’t finish!
